The Chris Walker Memorial Member of the Year Award is given annually, by the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of NEFA, to individuals whose service to the Association exemplifies the volunteer driven spirit of Chris Walker.
In 2012, the NEFA Member of the Year Award was renamed to honor Chris Walker who passed away the year prior. Walker was a tireless advocate for all that was good in this industry and a dedicated NEFA Board member. He was a colleague, mentor, and friend to many throughout the industry and it is NEFA’s honor and privilege to continue his legacy by bestowing this honor to worth NEFA volunteers.

Mike Mroszak has been an exceptional volunteer leader and advocate for NEFA throughout his years of involvement. As Chair of the Membership Committee and a member of the 2025 Fall Planning Committee, he has consistently gone above and beyond in strengthening the NEFA community.
Through his leadership of the Membership Committee, Mike has played a pivotal role in member engagement and growth, fostering a welcoming environment that encourages participation and connection. His efforts have shaped meaningful experiences for both new and longtime members, reinforcing the value of community within equipment finance.
Mike’s enthusiasm, professionalism, and dedication embody the spirit of NEFA. We are proud to recognize him as the 2025 Member of the Year.
